The best planner for you is someone who listens to and understands your ideas. And whom you feel a sense of comfort and connection. This is why the very first thing we will do is have a conversation. So we can get to know you - and you, us.

You'll tell us about you, your partner, and your family. Then, we'll ask you some questions about your ideas, vision, and style. And through it all, you'll see that we are naturally kind, calm and collected people.

But when event day arrives, know that we can easily flip a switch to boss-mode. We will handle any situation with ease, whether it's a complicated family matter or correcting a detail that does not meet your or our standards.

Thanks to my accounting background, I am meticulous at creating informative and easy-to-understand spreadsheets - a practice and service I have since instilled in my team. And, to make sure your ideas align with your plans, we are thorough note-takers and prompt communicators both with you and your vendors.

To help you stay on track throughout the planning process, you will have full access to us via email, text, and phone. And we will create a detailed checklist and a digital workbook that includes your events venue, vendor, and other important information for you to reference.

MEET THE TEAM

As the CEO and Director of Events at SB Events Co., Samiya Brasfield brings over 7 years of experience in the South Asian wedding industry. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio and previously worked as a Program Manager at one of the big three pharmaceutical drug distribution companies and in public accounting within the audit space. Her resilience, inspired by watching her parents work hard to build a life for their family, has made her exceptionally determined and resourceful. With the support of her husband and her love of events, she was motivated to create SB Events Co. Fast forward to today, Samiya has put together a team of remarkable and hard-working individuals with one goal in mind: to create memorable and meaningful multicultural events. On wedding days, she loves the quiet and intimate getting-ready moments, heartfelt parent dances, and the excitement of a wild, energetic dance floor. In her personal time, Samiya enjoys traveling, spending quality time with her family, husband, and goldendoodle, Archie. With her extensive background and passion for creating unforgettable weddings, Samiya ensures every event at SB Events Co. is executed with precision and excellence, instilling confidence in every client and their guests.

Katrina, a dedicated Lead Event Planner at SB Events Co. from Fort Worth, Texas, brings exceptional attention to detail and a wealth of experience to her role. Fluent in Vietnamese and English, she served in the Army from 2009-2010. Katrina's diverse background includes roles as an optical technician, billing specialist in accounting, wedding coordinator and bartender/manager at various notable venues. On wedding days, Katrina is motivated by the energy and excitement of the event and the joy on the couple's faces when everything comes together. She treasures moments like the first dance at the reception, which always bring tears to her eyes. In her personal time, Katrina enjoys DIY crafts, exploring new outdoor adventures, traveling, crafting new drinks, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her dog, Zeus. Katrina's expertise and exceptionally detail-oriented approach as a Lead Event Planner shines through in every wedding she plans, giving our couples and their families the assurance that their big day will be smooth and enjoyable from the start of the planning process through execution.

Fluent in English and Spanish, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication from California State University. On wedding days, Kennedy is motivated by the adrenaline and the joy of seeing clients relish every moment of their special day. His favorite moments are when he creates unique and memorable experiences tailored to the couple’s personalities. In his personal time, Kennedy enjoys dancing, savoring good food, and going on adventures with his partner. Kennedy's boundless energy and promptness on communication through the planning process as a Lead Event Planner bring a refined touch to every event, ensuring his couples and their families feel confident and excited about their special weekend.

Zinal, an Event Day Consultant at SB Events Co., is from Dallas, Texas, bringing a wealth of experience and meticulous attention to detail to her role. Fluent in English and Gujarati, Zinal holds a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Texas at Dallas. Her best planning moment was finding a dance floor last minute when a couple decided to add one for their event that night. On wedding days, she is motivated by the smiles and reactions when everything comes together, and she especially loves the moment when the dance floor opens up, with the bride and groom enjoying their time with friends and family during the first dances. In her personal time, Zinal enjoys traveling, exploring new places, dancing, baking, and going on walks. Her favorite travel destinations are Italy and Switzerland, with dream destinations of Thailand. Zinal's dedication and meticulous attention to detail as an Event Day Consultant guarantee that every event runs smoothly and beautifully, giving our couples and their families the confidence that their wedding day will be everything they've dreamed of.

Anesa brings experience and skills from the consulting world. Her favorite planning moment was a birthday party she executed flawlessly on her own, impressing many of her family members. Motivated by the joy of the couple and their guests on wedding days, Anesa thrives during vibrant event weekends filled with music and dance performances. In her personal time, she enjoys dancing, working out, exploring new food places, traveling, and participating in church activities. Anesa's quick-thinking approach, passion, and proactiveness guarantees that every event she consults on is meticulously reviewed and executed, leaving clients completely confident in their special day.

On wedding day Veronica is motivated by the joy of seeing everything come together seamlessly and witnessing moments that bring tears of joy to the bride or groom. You can find her favorite capturing candid behind-the-scenes footage for the SBE team or our SBE couples. In her personal time, Veronica enjoys exploring art museums, visiting cafes, spending time at the beach, engaging in deep conversations, walking, cooking, and BBQing with friends. With her creative flair and attention to detail, Veronica ensures that every event she supports is both unique and flawlessly captured providing clients with peace of mind and unforgettable digital memories.

Sanika, born and raised in Texas, is an Event Day Manager and Bridal Bestie at SB Events Co., bringing vibrant energy and dedication to her couples. Fluent in English and understanding Gujarati and Hindi, she adds a unique cultural perspective to the team. Currently attending the University of North Texas and majoring in marketing, she balances her studies with her passion for wedding coordinating. Her best planning moment was leading the team on short notice when SB and the lead planner had COVID. On wedding days, she is motivated by the adrenaline and the smiles and reactions from the bride and groom, tackling any challenge that comes her way. She especially loves watching dance performances during event weekends. In her personal time, Sanika enjoys traveling, exploring new places, dancing, baking, and going on walks. Sanika’s vibrant energy, passion, and dedication guarantee a seamless and joyous celebration, making every wedding a memorable experience for all involved.

Yesha holds a Bachelor's degree in Medicine from Smt. N.H.L. Municipal Medical College and a Master's in Health Administration from Saint Louis University, bringing years of consulting experience in the healthcare industry. In the wedding world, she finds immense joy in experiencing new wedding trends, outfits, and jewelry, and being part of a couple's most important day. On wedding days, the adrenaline keeps her going, and her favorite part of the event weekend is the open dance floor, where she loves to dance or vibe with Bollywood music. Outside of her professional life, Yesha enjoys eating good food, dancing, reading, and watching crime mystery thriller shows. Yesha's dedication, her event day smiles, and passion for weddings ensure that every event she consults on is smoothly executed, leaving our couples completely confident in their special day.

Drew brings valuable experience from her roles in property management, where she excelled as a Leasing Professional and Marketing Specialist. She is pursuing a degree in HR Management. In her role at SB Events Co., Drew manages our main email account, schedules meetings, manages inquiries, oversees our office space, and ensures that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. You may also see her lending a hand on event days! Drew works closely with the team to support ongoing projects and contribute to our continued success. Outside of work, Drew enjoys spending time with her 5-month-old son, Ares, exploring new food places (she LOVES boba tea!), and playing video games. We are excited to have her on board and excited for the positive impact she has brought to our company.
